WHAT
IS A SILICONE RUBBER?
Silicone rubber is derived from inorganic silica (sand). Silicones were
developed for commercial use during World War II to meet military applications
requiring extreme temperature resistance.
Over the years, numerous advances were made to improve tensile strength,
elongation and tear resistance as well as other improvements. In addition to its broad temperature
resistant properties silicone rubber now posses physical values superior
to a number of other synthetic polymers.
Silicone rubber is made up of a backbone of silicone and oxygen
atoms. This unique linkage is the same as that found in other high temperature
materials such as quartz and glass. As
a result, silicone rubber provides outstanding high and low temperature
resistant properties as well as general inertness toward many deteriorating
factors such as ozone, corona, weathering, UV rays, acids, bases, salts, oils,
fuels, fluids, and food products.

APPLICATION CONT.:
GENERAL
APPLICATION INFORMATION: Water saturated surfaces may reduce penetration. Damp substrates will increase cure time but
will not harm the effectiveness of the sealer.
When utilizing a sprayer, spray to saturation level making sure all
substrate has come in contact with the product. Cover and protect all surfaces not to be treated (i.e. treat with
soap and water. If set up has occurred;
clean equipment with mineral spirits or paint thinner.
ESTIMATED COVERAGE:
Coverage may vary from
estimate due to variations in substrate and application techniques.

PAINT ADDITIVE:
HI-TEK SEALER can be mixed with any paint (Latex or
any other water or oil based) or stain.
This enables the paint to take on the water proofing properties of the
sealant without effecting quality and eliminates the need of a paint primer.
Add one (1) cup per gallon of paint.
Coverage is the same as indicated by the paint supplier.

STRENGTH AND SUPER CONCENTRATED)
1. PRODUCT NAME:
HI-TEK SEALER
2.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Based Use: HI-TEK SEALER is a clear long lasting penetrating
waterproofing sealer for use on variety of surfaces including wood, concrete,
stucco, brick block, tile and canvas.
HI-TEK SEALER in a concentrate acts as an anti-graffiti barrier by
filling voids in porous surfaces which minimizes the graffiti penetration, thus
allowing for the graffiti removal with an approved cleaner and low pressure
water spray. HI-TEK SEALER increases
the resistance to mold/mildew and reducing chemical and salt contact to the
surface material.
Composition: HI-TEK SEALER is a water-based one component
liquid silicone rubber dispersion containing a proprietary blend of resins and
penetrating agents that exhibits excellent water repellency and breathability.
Benefits: Ecologically safe, clear, penetrating film which
does not discolor with ultraviolet rays.
• Exceptional flexibility after curing, allowing for structural
movement
• Excellent water-repelling characteristics for long -term
protection.
• Extended resistance to mold and mildew.
• Extensive gas permeability.
Limitations:
• Should be applied to clean and dry surfaces
• Adjacent areas and surfaces should be protected from contact
with the sealant.
• Should not be applied when inclement weather is imminent.
• Should not be applied above 400F.
• Should be applied where vapor barrier is required.
• Paint adhesion after application may be difficult unless paint
contains silicone.
• Care should be taken over substrates containing
water soluble pigments.
• A test area should always be
done to verify compatibility of substrate with product.
• Excess material must always be removed from
surface to prevent slipperiness.
• Solvent-based
products should not be applied over Hi-Tek Sealer.

4. INSTALLATION:
Preparation: Must include but not limited to:
• All surfaces
should be clean and free of loose materials, release oils and other
contaminants. These should be removed prior to application
by power washing or appropriate cleaner. Cleaner must always be thoroughly
rinsed from substrate prior to application of HI-TEK SEALER.
• A test should
always be done prior to application using the same cleaning and application
procedures to be used on the project.
Application:
• Should be applied in accordance with specific application
specifications.
• Apply HI-TEK SEALER by low pressure spray unit, brush, or roller.
• Spray to saturation level with a minimum 1/4 inch
rundown. Excess material on surface
should be removed with a dry roller or cloth.
Damp substrates will increase the cure time. Do not apply when inclement
weather is imminent. Immediately wash off any material on non-treated surfaces
with a soap and water solution. Cleaning: Clean all tools
with soap and water. BREMMER TEST RESULTS What is the Bremmer Test? The Bremmer
test is designed to simulate a 60 mile per hour wind- driven rain on the tested product as definite period of
time. Measurements are made of water
penetration every 5 minutes up to a 12 hour period on untreated and treated
products. A comparison test is
performed to determine the water sealant effectiveness of the sealant on the
substrate being tested. Product tested: Large brick, small brick, and mortar
joints. Test results: SURFACED
TESTED ELAPSED TIME A. Untreated Large Brick 20 minutes ½ Inch 1 hour 1 Inch 2 hour 2 ¾ inch HI-TEK SEALER TREATED 1 HOUR Large Brick 4 hours 0 6 hours 1/8 Inch 12 hours ¼ inch B. Untreated Small Brick 20 minutes 2/3 Inch 1 hour 1 ¼ Inch 2 hour 2 ¼ inch HI-TEK SEALER TREATED 1 HOUR Large Brick 4 hours 0 6 hours 1/8 Inch 12 hours 1/4 inch C. Untreated Mortar Joints 5 Minutes 1 Inch HI-TEK SEALER TREATED 1 HOUR 4 hours 0 6 hours 1/8 Inch 12 hours 1/4 inch Based on the above test results Hi-Tek Sealer is an
excellent solution to water penetration problems associated with brick and
mortar joints. ASTM TEST Test Performed By:
United States Testing Company TEST; Water
Vapor Transmission Sate - ASTM METHOD £ 94-96 (Dry Desiccant) SPECIFICATIONS OF TEST: Four (4) 12
inch by 12 inch panels of sheetrock were used for the test: One (1) panel was
left untreated by HI-TEK SEALER. Three
(3) punches were treated with one (1) ounce or a 30% strength formula of Hi-Tek
Sealer. This is five (5) times the normal application rate for masonry. The coated panels were allowed to dry one
(1) week then tested when dry to the touch. RESULTS: Water
Vapor Transmission Permeate Panels
Tested (Grains/Hr/Sq Ft)
(PERMS) Untreated 2.267 5.18 Treated 2.360 5.394 As shown by the test results, the coated and uncoated
panels fail within the standard deviation of the test method. It can therefore
be stated that Hi-Tek Sealer when applied at five (5) times the normal rate
caused no measurable change in the Water Vapor Transmission Rate Permeate of
the substrate it was applied to. ASDTM TEST TEST: Static Coefficient Of Friction: ASTM Method C 1028 (Broadened to
include Leather and Rubber-Sensor Pads) ASTM Method D 2047 ASTM Method E 303 SPECIFICATIONS
OF TEST: Six (6) Gay Pavers were supplied to the testing company. The pavers were scraped with paint scraper
to remove the rough edges and all were wire brushed. Three (3) of the Pavers were left untreated and 3 treated with
Hi-Tek Sealer at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon and cured at room
temperature. RESULTS: Water
was applied to all six Pavers. The
three (3) uncoated Pavers all absorbed water.
The three (3) Hi-Tek Sealer Coated Pavers all were beaded with water and
remain dry. The Hi-Tek Sealer coated
Pavers compared with the uncoated Pavers showed that the coated Pavers were
well above the recognized satisfactory Coefficient of Friction Level of 0.05.
